Ira Biswas has been a litigator for more than 29 years and is the Managing Partner of Chooi & Company. She has extensive experience in a wide spectrum of commercial litigation cases, with her key areas of practice being insolvency law and commercial frauds, banking litigation and debt recovery. She has also dealt with clientele in many different industries and is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer.

Other Experience
  • appointed by the Prime Minister’s Department to the Malaysia Law Reform Committee, tasked with advising the Government of Malaysia on specific areas of law reform from December 2009 to August 2015
  • actively involved in Bar Council Committees and is the Chairperson of the Bar Council’s Advocacy Training Committee and a member of its Corporate and Commercial Law Committee
  • co-chairperson of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (Malaysia Network)
  • certified as a ‘Tutor Trainer Trial Advocacy’ by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2011
